The product is directed towards addicted smokers who need a nicotine fix but don’t want to walk around chewing and spitting tobacco. The tea-like satchels are placed under your upper lip for nicotine relief. When you’ve had enough, simply toss away the snus (in the garbabge bin, of course). Since there’s no need patch yourself up or hawk out any nasty chewed up bits, it is indeed a refreshing idea for smokers who want to quit.

A new medical trend with the potential for huge impact is the brilliant innovation by Chris Holden, which can completely alter the drug administration procedures worldwide. The medidome has all of the essential parameters needed to eliminate all the fears, discomforts, complications and contamination dangers of the standard medical injections.

The medidome comes in two variations, both of which are disposable and beautifully designed.
The first one, Needle medidome, is a disposable needle based injection, which can reduce injuries and human errors, as well as speed up the injection process so that more people can be treated in less time. It is far less intimidating than a regular needle and can be used for pediatric purposes. Also, it is most useful for self-injections, first-aid kits and military and army field based injections. Probably the greatest advantage is the potential for mass immunization required in developing countries where the possibility of contracting the HIV virus can be easily obliterated.
The second one, Absorption medidome, administers absorption-based drugs by using a unique slow release design. This too, has a great many advantages. Building paper houses may no longer be a figment of our imagination. Japanese and Swedish scientists have devised an incredibly strong paper using cellulose particles. The paper is claimed to resist breaking when pulled ‘almost as well as cast iron’. Cellulose, a substance found in plants, can be a very strong and light ingredient in composites found in many products. The only problem is, regardless of its strength, is that cellulose based composites usually cause products to snap or break easily. The solution to this is found in the creation of nanopaper: “exposing wood pulp to certain chemicals to produce cellulose nanopaper. Their study found that its tensile strength — a material’s ability to resist pull before snapping — exceeded that of cast iron. They also were able to adjust the paper’s strength by changing its internal structure.”

I suppose ‘paper-goods’ take on an entirely new meaning now.

Researchers in India are developing a new form of biometrics that will enable the detection of suspicious individuals based on the way they walk. In case you didn’t know, the term Biometrics has recently expanded to include “the study of methods for uniquely recognizing humans based upon…physical or behavioral traits.” Well, if that doesn’t explain it enough: “…human gait typifies the motion characteristics of an individual. Viewed from the side, we each have a unique gait that makes us easily recognizable..a camera with a side view can record a set of key frames, or stances, as a person heads for the security desk at an airport, military installation or bank, for instance. Key frames over the person’s complete walk cycle, can then be…used to classify the person’s gait.’’

And that, my friends. is how we catch the bad guys.
