Monovelo’s Big Wheel
by: Taly Weiss September 22, 2008![]()
Created by Monovelo, the human-powered wheel featured at the Olympics’ ceremonies, is an excellent form of eco-friendly transportation. The monowheel, built from plastic, steel and rubber weighs 84lbs and can carry up to 220lbs. “Monovelo claims it could be a great advertising tool and is even street legal in most countries. With a top speed of 12.5 miles per hour, that’s a lot of good exposure time.”
Apparently you need a few hours to learn how to ride it, but this little (big) baby is fit for advertising, exercise, attention-grabbing and pollution free commutes-So I say it’s worth the effort.
