Nike is considerate towards the environment
by: trendlover March 25, 2008
The 23rd sneaker in the Nike Air Jordan series is “Nike Considered”. This is what Nike coins its new approach towards manufacturing their footwear. Instead of ‘glues’ used to put the sneaker together, the new air jordan is built from bottom up ‘…almost like a jigsaw puzzle…’, piece by piece, without the nasty chemical adhesive. The chemical generally used to manufacture other shoes can potentially damage the workers and pollute the environment if it is not correctly disposed of. Therefore, “Nike Considered” has created several footwear items which are friendlier to the environment. Nike’s VP of corporate resonsibility claims neither the design nor efficiency standards of the sneaker are compromised when using this new method and hopes other footwear companies follow suit. Yeah. Just do it.
